WHAT IS EDO KIRIKO

Edo Kiriko is a traditional Japanese glasscutting craft that began in the Edo period1834. Edo Kiriko is known for its intricate designs and refined craftsmanship. Edo Kiriko is celebrated for its use of vivid colors and detailed patterns, making each piece unique and full of character. The goal of Edo Kiriko is to develop glass crafts that pursue beauty as well as quality and also continue to preserve and develop the traditions.

RENOWNED MASTER

Master Horiguchi, founder of Horiguchi Kiriko, is a third-generation master in the Shūseki line, dedicated to preserving the art of Edo Kiriko, Japan’s traditional glass-cutting craft.

His studio has collaborated with five-star hotels, providing elegant glassware for lobbies, VIP rooms, and bars, and is featured in many high-end Japanese restaurants, showcasing the beauty and precision of each piece.

Step into the serene world of Zen at Daishoji Temple, a historic site with roots dating back to 1573. As a temple of the Sōtō Zen Tradition, which places great importance on Zen meditation, Daishoji offers a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of this ancient practice.
